Thank you to all participants!<\/p>\n

This ninth edition, which began last February 14, confirmed the growing trend of the competition and proved that URBAN has become an important event and followed by many photographers. In the contest, 4,460 photos and 272 portfolios<\/strong> for 1,103 participants from all over the world<\/strong>. In addition to Italy: Germany, England, Netherlands, Poland, India, United States and many more.<\/em><\/p>\n

The jury of the competition, chaired by Tatsuo Suzuki<\/strong>, is already working: shortly S<\/strong>elected Photographers<\/strong> will be published and by the end of July the Finalist <\/strong>ones. Winners<\/strong> and Honor<\/strong>able<\/strong> Mention<\/strong>s<\/strong> will be announced in September. The final exhibition with award ceremony will be held in Trieste at the end of October, during the opening of the festival Trieste Photo Days 2018<\/strong>, where the jury president Tatsuo Suzuki<\/strong> will personally reward the Winner Overall.<\/p>\n

This year, URBAN<\/strong> has a prize pool of 7,000 \u20ac<\/strong>. Among the various prizes, URBAN Main Partner, the Museum<\/strong> of Pore<\/strong>\u010d<\/strong> Territory<\/strong> (Pore\u010d, Croatia) will display an exhibition for three projects classified in the “Projects & Portfolios” section. The projects will be selected by the curators of the Museum and exhibited from August 7 to September 14, 2018.<\/p>\n

Over the next few weeks, the best photos of URBAN 2018 will be selected to become part of a “traveling” exhibition circuit around Europe. <\/strong>Since 2011, URBAN has set up exhibitions in Poland (Krakow and Warsaw), Hungary (Budapest, Pecs and Miskolc), Germany (Berlin), Cyprus (Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia), Latvia (Riga), Slovenia (Koper), Croatia (Pore\u010d), Ukraine (Sumy), Serbia (Belgrade), Colombia (Bucaramanga) and Italy (Trieste and Rome).<\/p>\n

In addition, a selection of single images and projects<\/strong> will compose the fourth edition of Urban unveils the City and its secrets<\/em><\/strong>, which will be presented at Trieste Photo Days<\/strong> in late October.<\/p>\n

Works will be selected by a prestigious\u00a0Jury<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0composed by\u00a0Tatsuo Suzuki\u00a0<\/strong>(Jury President, multi-awarded Japanese street photographer),\u00a0Elena Uljan\u010di\u0107-Veki\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0(director of Pore\u010d Museum, Croatia),\u00a0Tadashi Onishi<\/strong>(Japanese street photographer, TPD 2017 Book Award winner),\u00a0Ania Klosek<\/strong>\u00a0(Polish street photographer ),\u00a0Angelo Cucchetto<\/strong>\u00a0(Trieste Photo Days art director),\u00a0Rathika Ramsamy<\/strong>\u00a0(Indian naturalist photographer),\u00a0Rohit Vohra<\/strong>\u00a0(one of Asia\u2019s most prominent street photographers, co-founder of APF magazine),\u00a0Pepe Castro<\/strong>\u00a0(Spanish photographer),\u00a0Barbara Silbe<\/strong>\u00a0(co-founder and editor of EyesOpen! Magazin),\u00a0Gabi Ben Avraham<\/strong>\u00a0(Israeli street photographer),\u00a0Diego Orlando<\/strong>\u00a0(Burn magazine art director),\u00a0Bob Patterson<\/strong>\u00a0(Street photographer Magazine editor),\u00a0Fulvio Merlak<\/strong>\u00a0(italian photography critic),\u00a0Adrian Mirgos<\/strong>\u00a0(Polish photographer),\u00a0Felipe Abreu<\/strong>\u00a0(photographer and editor of Revista OLD),\u00a0Olga de Frutos<\/strong>\u00a0(Quo Magazine editor),\u00a0Silvio Mencarelli<\/strong>\u00a0(Italian photographer and journalist),\u00a0Maja Briski<\/strong>\u00a0(art critic and independent curator).","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
