It was during these travels that he began to favour a camera over a brush, and by the time he returned to the UK at the end of 1983 his future was set. He then spent a decade working in editorial and charitable markets before being appointed <strong>Professor of Photography at the University of Brighton<\/strong>, a position he held for 25 years. Correspondingly, Power&#8217;s practice shifted towards long-term, self-initiated projects, alongside a series of major commissions in the industrial sector.
