For the sixth year in a row, the collaboration between URBAN Photo Awards<\/strong> and the Municipality of Trieste<\/strong> will give life to a prestigious exhibition-award at the Civico Museo Sartorio<\/em><\/strong><\/a> for four finalist projects in the 2023 edition of the contest.<\/p>\n

The projects on display were selected by Claudia Colecchia<\/strong>, (archivist executive officer and head of the Photo Library<\/strong> <\/a>– Fototeca <\/em>and the Library of the Civic Museums of Trieste<\/strong> <\/a>– Biblioteca dei Civici Musei di Storia ed Arte del Comune di Trieste), <\/em>and Michela Messina<\/strong> (conservator of the Civic Museum Sartorio<\/strong><\/a> – Museo Civico Sartorio<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The exhibition of the winning projects is part of the Trieste Photo Days 2023<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0events and will be open from October 27 to November 26, 2023<\/strong>. The four winning authors will be honored at the URBAN Photo Awards Ceremony<\/strong> on Saturday, October 28<\/strong>, at the “Marco Sofianopulo”<\/em> Auditorium of the Civic Museum of Modern Art Revoltella.<\/p>\n

Alain Schroeder – Lelo<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Lelo Burti”<\/em>\u00a0is a Georgian sport, which combines elements of wrestling and rugby\u00a0 and is played once a year on the Georgian Orthodox Easter Sunday in the small village of Shukhuti.<\/p>\n

Andrea Bettancini – <\/strong>The failure of reason<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

The Montecatini colony in Cervia was designed in 1937 by a Jewish architect Eugenio Faludi a year before the promulgation of the Italian racial laws. The censorship imposed on him after the “Declaration of race”<\/em> in 1938, erased the memory of the paternity of this magnificent example of Italian rationalist architecture.<\/p>\n

Memento mori, remember that you have to die, is a Latin saying that stresses the impermanence of all things, and reminds that all things, including us, must die.<\/p>\n

Martina D’Agresta – Tempra<\/em><\/h3>\n

A feminine noun with a double meaning: a heat treatment of metals aimed at improving its properties strength and bending mechanics or a set of psychic and spiritual qualities of an individual with a marked connotation of solidity and vigor.<\/p>\n
