For the past four years, the \u200b\u200bArchitecture Photography Prize<\/strong>, born from the collaboration between URBAN Photo Awards<\/strong> and Matrix4Design<\/strong><\/a>, has offered a look at contemporary architectural photography.<\/p>\n

After three editions dedicated to urban architecture of the new millennium, the Prize promoted by Matrix4Design evolved from \u201cNew Buildings\u201d to \u201cIcons of Architecture\u201d<\/strong>. The subjects of the shots in the competition are the iconic buildings that have contributed to writing the history of architecture. The proposed photographs show buildings created by the great names in international architecture,<\/strong> capturing their identity from a novel point of view and providing an original interpretation.<\/p>\n

\n

Icons of Architecture 2023<\/h2>\n

The 2023 Icons of Architecture special prize<\/strong> saw more than 200 photos<\/strong> in the competition, which Andrea Boni<\/strong> evaluated and selected to draw up a shortlist of the 30 finalists.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u200b\u200bThese are the words of the founder of Matrix4Design: \u201cThe selected photographs are distinguished by their ability to capture the relationship between architecture and space by enhancing the unique characteristics of the portrayed buildings through unprecedented and original perspectives. The photographer’s gaze enhances the architectural work and fully restores its iconic identity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In September we will announce the Icons of Architecture Top 10, <\/strong>which in October they will be exhibited in Milan as part of an exhibition at the CRISTINA Brera<\/a> showroom; the exhibition will be part of the calendar of the Milano Photofestival 2023<\/strong><\/a>. Then the winning photo will be announced, which will be exhibited and awarded at the end of October, during the Trieste Photo Days festival<\/a><\/strong>. A selection of the best Icons of Architecture photos will also be published in the volume URBAN unveils – Vol. 09<\/strong><\/em>, which will contain the best of the 2023 contest.<\/p>\n
