We extend our deepest appreciation to more than\u00a03000 photographers<\/strong> hailing from various corners of the world\u00a0who have embraced the challenge of our contest. We wholeheartedly wish each of them the best of luck <\/strong>on their creative journey and in the next phases of the competition.<\/div>\n
The response to our fourteenth edition<\/strong> of the contest\u00a0has surpassed our expectations\u00a0leaving us immensely gratified. The sheer excellence and quantity of submissions have been amazing, with a staggering 12.000 photos entered into the competition<\/strong> (including 265\u00a0for the\u00a0Matrix4Design<\/a> special prize<\/strong>), along with over\u00a0400<\/strong>\u00a0Projects and Portfolios<\/strong> and over 120 Photo Books. <\/strong>Our new format contest Young Photo Arena<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0dedicated to under 35 young, talents\u00a0received 85 photo entries<\/strong>.

Our jury is already at work: the Selected Photographers<\/strong> will be published shortly and the Semifinalists<\/strong> will be published by mid-July. At the end of July it will be the turn of the Finalists<\/strong> and in mid-September the Shortlist<\/strong> will finally be announced. As usual, each ranking will be in alphabetical order<\/strong>: we will reveal the final podium on Saturday 28\u00a0October 2023\u00a0at Trieste Photo Days festival<\/strong>, <\/a>in north-eastern Italy. On that occasion, Alec Soth<\/strong>, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Sessini<\/strong> and Kadir van Lohuizen,<\/strong> will personally award the winners of the contest.<\/div>\n
In addition to the winners exhibition,Trieste Photo Days<\/a><\/strong> will host various exhibits and previews with the best photos of URBAN 2023<\/strong><\/a> (as part of Trieste Photo Fringe<\/strong> and Photo Days Tour<\/strong>). The contest catalog, Urban unveils the City and its Secrets \u2013 Vol. #09,<\/strong><\/em> will also be presented.<\/div>\n
