URBAN Photo Awards 2026: The Finalists Are In!
Following a careful evaluation process by our international jury, chaired by Mark Power for the Projects & Portfolios section and by Christopher Morris for Single Photos, we are pleased to announce the Finalist Photographers of the seventeenth edition of URBAN Photo Awards.
Finalists Announcement
You can now browse the gallery of our Finalist Photographers here, selected on the basis of the scores awarded by the jury. The lists are organised by section and in alphabetical order, with no ranking: type your name into the section’s search bar to find your photo, your project or your book.
This year we received almost 20,000 images from around 5,000 photographers worldwide. Only a small group moves on to the final stage, but every entry remains part of the story of this edition: we will continue to give the works we received the visibility they deserve through articles, promotional campaigns and editorial and multimedia projects.
HERE ARE THE FINALISTSIn September: the Winners
The next step is the publication of the Winners, in alphabetical order and with no ranking. In the same weeks we will announce the winners of the URBAN Book Award, URBAN Press Award, Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award and Mark Power Special Prize, who will receive their awards on stage at the ceremony.
Saturday 24 October: the Awards Ceremony
At Trieste Photo Days, in the presence of Mark Power and Christopher Morris, we will present the awards to the winners of the four thematic areas of Single Photos: Streets, People, Spaces and Creative. Also on stage will be the winners of Projects & Portfolios and URBAN Photo Arena, the Artistic Sensitivity Award, the Honourable Mentions and Remarkable Rewards. The title of Photographer of the Year 2026 will then go to one of the first-place winners of the four thematic areas.
Every winner, Honourable Mention and Remarkable Reward will receive their own trophy or medal, original works handmade by Venice Biennale artist Giorgio Celiberti and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Authors receiving more than one award will also enter the shortlist for the TPD Best Author 2026 prize, presented during Trieste Photo Days.
