URBAN Photo Awards 2026: here are the Selected Photographers
The journey to the URBAN Photo Awards 2026 podium has officially begun: we are thrilled to share the names of the Selected Photographers, the first milestone of a path unfolding in several phases, all leading to Saturday 24 October, when the Awards Ceremony will take place as part of Trieste Photo Days, where our distinguished jurors Mark Power and Christopher Morris will present the prizes.
Announcement Phases
This year nearly 20,000 images were submitted by around 5,000 photographers from across the world, across Single Images, Projects & Portfolios and books entered for the Book Award. Here are the five phases that Selected Photographers will go through on their way to the podium:
- Selected Photographers: announced here
- Semifinalists: mid-July
- Finalists: end of July
- Winners: live Awards Ceremony at the international festival Trieste Photo Days, 24 October 2026
Where is my name? The Selected Photographers lists are organised by section and sorted alphabetically: type your name in the search bar to find your photo or project.
URBAN Photo Arena is also about to get underway: hundreds of photographs are ready to compete in the tournament dedicated to under-35 talent. Entrants will be contacted shortly with voting instructions.
We will also soon be publishing the shortlist for the special Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award: all photographers under 35 who entered the Projects & Portfolios section are automatically in the running for this prize.
Upcoming festival
Mark the dates of Trieste Photo Days in your calendar: 23 to 25 October. This year the URBAN jury will be led by Mark Power for the Projects & Portfolios section and by Christopher Morris for the Single Images section: both will be at the heart of the festival, with exhibitions, talks and workshops.
