Nicola Bertellotti

Nicola Bertellotti is a professional photographer born in Pietrasanta, Tuscany. After studying History at the University of Pisa, he began traveling the world in search of rediscovering the past glory of forgotten places. What emerges in his aesthetic is the nostalgia for a lost paradise, expressed through a love for ruins, and a photographic reinterpretation of decadent poetry.

He has exhibited in various contemporary art galleries and museums; among his main exhibitions are: Hic sunt dracones, Castel dell’Ovo, Naples; The Great Beauty, Pärnu Museum, Estonia; Paradiso Perduto, Estella Gallery, New Orleans. In 2021, he was featured in the official program of the Brescia Photo Festival with Sipario, a project on the abandonment of cultural sites. In 2022, he won the Trento Art Prize and the prestigious Premio Arte organized by Cairo Editore. In 2023, he was awarded first prize in the AIPAI contest with a series dedicated to industrial archaeology. In 2024, one of his large-format works was permanently installed in a bus shelter in Aosta. In 2025, he won first place in the Rovine di Puglia competition.

His works are included in public and private collections and have appeared in numerous magazines. He has published two books: Fenomenologia della fine (Petrartedizioni, 2014) and In Absentia (Snap Collective Publishing, 2022).
