Moisés Levy

I am a Mexican architect and fine art photographer, born in Mexico City in 1963. I studied architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana, and that foundation has profoundly shaped my visual language. My work explores the intersection of space, light, and the human experience, often through minimalist compositions that highlight contrast, scale, and the quiet presence of figures within vast, open landscapes.

I work both in color and black and white, but I particularly prefer black and white for my backlit photographs. This approach allows me to focus on conceptual clarity, stripping away distractions and emphasizing form, light, and emotion in their purest expressions.

Much of my photography reflects on solitude, transience, and the subtle tension between humanity and nature. My recent book, centered on fishermen, is a personal and visual meditation on these themes—using silhouettes and atmospheric light to evoke emotion and connection.

My photographs have been featured in National Geographic, Lenswork, B&W Magazine, STARK, and VISION. I’ve received several international awards, including 1st Prize at PX3 Paris, and have exhibited my work in galleries and art events across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and Asia, including the Venice Biennale.
