Focus on Your Future: Win a Semester of Creative Photography
An URBAN prize has been designed to cultivate young talent and promote their creative spirit in an international environment: we are excited to collaborate once again with the School of Creative Photography in Krakow, Poland.
This collaboration offers an extraordinary opportunity for the winner of the special Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award, the recognition dedicated to the best portfolio among authors under 35. The selected author will win a six-month scholarship to attend the School of Creative Photography in Krakow!
The course is valued at €1,600 and lessons are held in English. If the first-place winner is unable to attend the semester, the prize will be offered to subsequent photographers in the ranking, in descending order.
All participants under the age of 35 who register for the “Projects & Portfolio” category or the “Matt Black Special Prize” (or both) will be automatically entered into the Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award. The deadline is June 15th. The commission that will select the winning project will be led by Denis Curti, curator, essayist, and director of Le Stanze della Fotografia in Venice.

The founder of the Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design and the School of Creative Photography (SKF) is an experienced photographer and passionate educator specializing in nude photography and gum printing. He constantly seeks new approaches to classical photographic subjects, fostering unconventional works that attract international university tours.
He has conducted masterclasses globally, including at the CMTV Television School in Georgia and the Umelcov Spisa Gallery in Slovakia. He invites renowned photographers and designers like Jeanloup Sieff, Mark Bickerstaffe, and Roger Ballen to give guest lectures and workshops. Additionally, he serves as a juror for photography and fashion competitions in Poland and internationally, such as the Poznan and Lodz International Fairs and various fashion weeks.
All about the School
The School of Creative Photography in Krakow, Poland, is ranked among the top photography schools worldwide, offering a prestigious Fine Art Photographer diploma. Courses are conducted in English full-time, and in Polish both full-time and part-time.
Located in Poland’s cultural capital, the School provides an inspiring environment for aspiring photographers, featuring instruction from renowned international photographers and experts. The curriculum covers creative and commercial photography, including fashion, advertising, wedding, analog and digital photography, and various specialized areas like nude, still life, portrait, food, and product photography. The School organizes prestigious competitions like Focus on Fashion and Polish Talent Support and hosts world-famous artists, providing students with unique learning and inspiration opportunities.
