Barbara Silbe
Barbara Silbe, journalist and curator, is the editor-in-chief of EyesOpen! Magazine (www.eyesopen.it), which she founded in 2014. She writes about art, photography, technology, culture, and tourism for the daily newspaper Il Giornale, for Il Fotografo magazine, and for other publications (Mediaset, Il Domani, Style, Arbiter, O’Magazine, Espansione, Auto Italiana, among others).
An expert in editorial editing, she was featured on numerous juries for national and international photography awards and curates a wide range of photography events, as well as books and both solo and group exhibitions. She collaborates with museums, companies, and publishing houses as an independent curator, teaches visual storytelling at various educational institutions, and teaches editorial photography at the Panorama Academy / eCampus University. She conceived the charity auction La fotografia diventa nobile, involving 178 artists in an exceptional fundraising initiative entirely dedicated to the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation.
She curates the Italian edition of the exhibition dedicated to the Sony World Photography Award, one of the largest and most prestigious photography competitions in the world, hosted at the Diocesan Museum of Milan. For the same museum, she has produced and curated the monographic exhibition dedicated to British portrait photographer Lee Jeffries, as well as the exhibition celebrating the work of Italian photojournalist Livio Senigalliesi.
