Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from you photographers

  URBAN Photo Awards  

I want to enter URBAN 2025. Is there still time? 

Yes, but hurry! Submissions are open until Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

Who will judge my photos?

An international jury chaired by Matt Black. The judges include photography professionals, among them Paolo Verzone, Denis Curti, and many others.

Can I submit only 1 photo?

Certainly!  Photographers can participate with as many images as they wish.

Can I submit a free-themed project?

Of course!  We have a section dedicated to Projects & Portfolios, which includes photo sets, series, reportages, and storyboards.  A maximum of 12 photos per project.

But I have a project with more than 80 images! What now?

You can submit it for the URBAN Book Awards section.  We accept both PDF and image sequences. Denis Curti himself will choose and award the winning project, which we will publish in a printed volume!

How do I know if I have won URBAN?

There are five selection phases for our photography sections that lead to the final podium:

1. Selected Photographers (by the end of June 2025). Publication on the website of Selected Photographers in alphabetical order (without ranking), who will have the opportunity to participate in summer exhibitions/previews.
2. Editors Choice (by mid-July 2025). Publication on the website of Semifinalist Photographers in alphabetical order (without ranking): approximately 800 single photos + 100 Projects + 20 Books.
3. Finalists (By the end of July 2025).  Publication on the website of Finalist Photographers in alphabetical order (without ranking): approximately 200 single photos + 30 Projects + 5 Books.
4. Winners Shortlist (mid-September).  Publication on the website of the Shortlist in alphabetical order (without ranking): approximately 40 single photos + 5 Projects + 3 Books.
5. Final Podium at Trieste Photo Days (Saturday, October 25, 2025).  Announcement and awards ceremony for the winners.

The final ranking will subsequently be published on the URBAN website and Facebook page.

Will my URBAN photo be exhibited?

All Selected Photographers will be published in our online Gallery!  If you are on the Winners Shortlist, your work will be exhibited at Trieste Photo Days 2025. Selected photographers will still have the opportunity to participate in special exhibitions (Trieste Photo Fringe) and be included in our photo book URBAN Unveils the City and its Secrets – Volume 11.

What is Trieste Photo Days?

Trieste Photo Days – International Photography Festival (October 24-26, Trieste) is the event where we exhibit hundreds of URBAN photographers!  We curate exhibitions with authors from all over the world in splendid city center and regional locations, in museums and exhibition halls.

Here’s what you can find during the Festival:

• Exhibitions of the Winners and URBAN 2025 Awards Ceremony
• Workshops and Masterclasses, photography conferences, bookshop with all photo catalogs, meetings and networking with photographers… and delicious dinners organized to promote exchange and dialogue among photographers!
• Trieste Photo Fringe – 3 months to 1 year of URBAN photographic exhibitions in the best and most visited locations in Trieste.
• Photo Days Tour – A wide circuit of exhibitions in extraordinary locations in the region and abroad.

Can I pay my URBAN submissions with Photopoints?

  Uploading photos and Payments  

How do I submit my Photo entries? 

1) Go to the URBAN Photo Awards user area at www.my.dotlogic.net
2) Upload your Single Photos, Portfolios, Books, Zines or Photo Arena (Under 35 only)
3) Add all Photo Data and save. Don’t forget to add your @Instagram and @Facebook accounts in your Personal Data! So we can tag and share your work!
4) Confirm and proceed with Payment
5) When the red band in your photo is gone, your payment is confirmed! (image below) 

Can I pay with a Credit Card?

You can pay in the user area.  We accept these payment methods:

PayPal and Stripe: methods available directly online.

Bank transfer to dotART – IBAN IT43F0306909606100000010209 / BIC/SWIFT Code: BCITITMM (please add text: “URBAN 2025”. IMPORTANT: include the email used in the upload form).

Payment by hand at dotART, Via S. Francesco 6 – 2nd floor, Trieste, Italy – by appointment (info@dotart.it or Tel. +39 040 3720617).

We also accept other payment methods (for example SumUp and Wise): if interested, write us an email.

If you wish to pay by bank transfer you can make a single payment specifying “Contribution to Urban Photo Contest 2025 + section1 + Name + Email”.

I forgot to pay via Bank Transfer, and it’s already Friday 13th! What should I do?
